The Queens County Seniors Safety Program provides safety education and support for people 55+, free of charge. Our reach extends beyond the Region of Queens to all of Nova scotia and Atlantic Canada.

The coordinator will come to your home or speak to groups and organizations on how to stay safe in your homes, in your vehicles, on the streets, and bring you up to date on the latest cons, frauds, scams, & identity theft.

We also hold free RCMP Adult Academies for 6-week periods throughout the year in different locations in Queens County which provide different information and demonstrations each week as well as a social aspect.

We will take all reports of suspected adult abuse (physical, mental, financial, or medication problems), in total confidence.

The coordinator works with the RCMP Community Policing Officer, Adult Protection, counsellors for abused women, medical profession, V.O.N., Department of Seniors, the South Shore Health Team, Community Services, Housing Authority, Home Support, and many others
